On February 16, 2008 was our grand opening and the official business birth date for " A Taste of Soul" which was an extreme success, and we thank each person individually for their support whether you chose to "Grub In" while dining in our facility, or if you chose to "Grub Out" at your home, business, or any other place that facilitated to your desire.

Who We Are

     Tammy Chambers, who is originally from Cleveland, OH. was inspired and raised by her Grandmother in which she developed a passion for cooking at the young age of 9 This passion later developed into entrepreneurship. Ms. Chambers, who is the owner of this fine establishment envisioned this dream after working in the banking industry for over 7 years providing personal financial assistance and loan needs to banking customers. At that point is when Chambers realized that fulfilling her own self worth by providing Americans with high quality at reasonable prices differed from that of conservative banking industry giants.

     After 18 months of working side by side with the former owner Mr. Gratis Woolen(Smoke Pit) with "lots" of praying. Tammy then decided to endeavor into her own business from the help of the former owner whose generosity is greatly appreciated. Allowing her to conduct her disctinct style of business within an already established facility standing for over two decades. To bring in a complete and diverse soul food restaurant which has been greatly needed for years within the San Fernando Valley area. Finally that is when the dream came true for the young "Sista".

This vision is to provide excellence to the good and earnest hard working people with a quality of value that supersedes that of our competitors. Wow! This is something rare, especially now a days with respect to our current economy. Good values are hard to find now a days, but not at A Taste of Soul for the person that expects high quality and service not at a ridiculously high price.
